Gear Builder

Script is desgined to combine the following tools into one interface.

  • nonLinear bend deformer
  • pivot adjustment
  • duplicate with transform
  • merge verts

The initial purpose was to create gears/cogs by modeling one tooth at a time. This allows for a more efficient uv texture map. The modeler can build one tooth of the gear, unwrap it then easily bend, duplicate and combine the teeth into on object while maintaining the efficient map.

In order for the script to work properly an object must be selected prior to launch. It's original intent is that this object be a tooth or piece of a gear that has been modeled and aligned to a particular axis in the scene so that it can be duplicated and rotated around an axis.
